Review: Galco Yaqui Paddle Holster

Galco's Yaqui Paddle Holster. $74.95

Pistol used with holster...Para Tac-Four. Weight, 36oz without the full 13 rd magazine of .45acp.

Note: I don't believe in reviewing a holster and making a judgement on how it will work with ALL makes and models of pistols. I will only review with what I have and what I use.

The Review...

Normally, I turn to Galco for most if not all of my holster and etc, needs... But this time I believe they really sold me a true piece of shit.

Oh, it fits on my belt easily enough...it holds the pistol properly and securely...

But here is the thing...

IT HURT LIKE FUCKING HELL!

There is a very real and very serious reason why MOST paddle holsters have large paddles on them. That is so that the weight of the pistol and the magazine in it will be evenly distributed over a large enough area (the paddle) so as to minimize discomfort to the wearer.

That is NOT the case with the Yaqui Paddle Holster.

The paddle, itself, is slightly bigger than the holster. The height is about 3 inches. The width is about 4 inches.

Now, imagine the ENTIRE weight of the pistol, being PUSHED into your hip, for however long you wore the holster...ALL along a 4 inch width.

When I work, I am up and walking, moving, dodging, weaving, sitting, standing, etc...ALL for 9 to 10 hours a day.

After one day wearing the Yaqui Paddle Holster...I was in PAIN! I was in SERIOUS FUCKING PAIN! I kept on looking at my hip to see if someone had stabbed me and was surprised to see a lack of blood GUSHING from my hip!

What a true piece of crap... If you have a Para Tac-Four and are considering the Yaqui Paddle Holster...don't...for the love of all creatures great and small...DON'T!!!

I know the old adage that holsters are supposed to be comforting and NOT comfortable...but god-damn! Holsters are NOT supposed to be PAINFUL!
