Galco's M5X Matrix Paddle Holster. $29.95
Pistol used with holster...Para Tac-Four. Weight, 36oz without the full 13 rd magazine of .45acp.
Note: I don't believe in reviewing a holster and making a judgement on how it will work with ALL makes and models of pistols. I will only review with what I have and what I use.
The Review...
The price is really cheap...the holster, itself, feels light and and almost delicate...like if it were a cheap holster that would be crap...
The way it looks...well, let me quote from Galco's site, "Unlike many other harsh, mechanical-looking plastic holsters, the Matrix resembles a hand-molded Galco leather holster." That statement is misleading...the Matrix "resembles" a leather holster but, trust me, it in NO WAY looks like a leather holster. In fact, it looks...well...like the price...it looks cheap...flimsy...
But, surprisingly, it holster is very durable! It is also comfortable to wear day after day. I was really shocked at how good of a holster the Matrix actually is. This is even after I stepped on it, expecting it to shatter and then when it didn't, let my dog chew on it some... But it survived, worked and still stayed comfortable on my hip!
Here is the bottom line...
The damn thing looks cheap, feels cheap and actually IS cheap (i.e. the price). It is also somewhat ugly. Sorry, Galco, but it isn't an attractive holster. In fact, it looks more like a holster that comes part of some kid's toy set and more suited for the 7 and under crowd.
But guess what?
It is a tough holster that not only works, but is also comfortable and that holds the pistol high enough to conceal under a vest quite easily.
Is this worth the buy? Yes. The price doesn't hurt either...
I highly recommend this holster.
